WebFOCUS Environment

Navigating TIBCO WebFOCUS | Overview

When you first sign in to TIBCO WebFOCUS, the start page opens. It serves as a centralized place for working with your data, creating, organizing, and sharing content, scheduling reports and procedures, and performing client and server administrative tasks. These functions are controlled by the permissions that are assigned to the role of a user. To learn more about the available roles in WebFOCUS, see the TIBCO WebFOCUS® Security and Administration technical content.

The main elements of the WebFOCUS start page are:

Navigating TIBCO WebFOCUS | Banner

The banner, shown in the following image, is located on the top of your WebFOCUS start page. It is accessible from every area of the start page.

The hamburger button, located in the upper left corner, takes you to the Main Menu. Here you can navigate to the areas of your start page. This menu also gives you direct access to the TIBCO WebFOCUS tools, such as InfoAssist, TIBCO WebFOCUS® Infographics, ReportCaster schedule status, ReportCaster Explorer, and Magnify Search.

Uploading Files

In addition to creating content using WebFOCUS, you can upload other files, such as images and documents. These files can be used to enhance visualizations and shared with other users and groups.

Creating Blogs

You can create blogs and include them in your pages and portals. A blog is an interactive content item that operates as commonly seen blogs on the internet and allows users to post and view comments. Blogs abide by the same security rules that apply to other items in the repository. You can publish, unpublish, hide, and move blogs between workspaces or folders. You can also share blogs with other users and groups.

Note: This feature is available in the full version of WebFOCUS.

Creating URLs

You can create URLs to webpages and store them within the repository. These URLs can further enhance analytics, by providing an additional interactive context to your data. You can run a URL straight from your repository, use it in a portal, or add it to a personal page. If your URL is optimized for use in an iFrame, you can embed it within a container on a page. You can also publish and share a URL to make it available to other users and groups.
