Filters allow you to limit the data that displays in your content to show only the information that is important or relevant to you.  You can create static filters, which are always applied to your content and cannot be edited at run-time, and prompted filters, which are dynamic parameter filters. This means that you can select the value or values to display at run time.

Insight allows you to make significant modifications to your content at run-time, and can be enabled with the click of a button.
Insight allows you to completely transform a chart at run-time. Enabling Insight just takes a single click of a button: once you’ve created a chart, just click Run with Insight in the Content area of the Settings tab.  You can enable Insight for stand-alone charts only. On the toolbar, click Preview to begin making your selections.

Video: How to Hide Content From Devices

In this video we will learn how to hide certain containers from specific devices.

This feature is especially useful if you need to hide large or complex content items from smaller devices.
To hide a container from specific devices, select it on the canvas, and, in the Properties panel, configure the Show On property.

Notice that all device buttons are selected by default. Manually clear the buttons to hide the item from specific device types. Here we are hiding a large map from tablets and mobile phones.

Video: How to Enable Container Customization on a Page

As an alternative to static content, you can enable users to customize their content at run time and make pages more useful and interactive.
In WebFOCUS Designer, turn your visualization into a page.

Video: How to View Information About Referenced Content

When creating a visualization from existing content, the information mode allows developers to determine where to find the content item displayed in a container and which parameters, if any, this content item accepts.  This is useful to determine which filters will affect which items, and where to access those items if you wish to edit them.
To enable the information mode, click the Info button on the Designer Toolbar.

Notice that the view of all content items on the canvas changes to display their paths in the repository and parameters configured for these items.

Video: How to Use Dynamic Grouping for Dimension Field Values

Dynamic grouping allows you to group related dimension values in your data into useful categories.
If your data includes values that it might be useful to combine, you can add them all to a group in a new grouped field. For example, the data in this pie chart might make more sense if the subregions in the United States were grouped together.  By grouping your data into useful categories, it becomes more manageable, better organized, and ultimately, more useful.
