Problem

Can the Db2 Extender be used for long alpha fields?

The user was using the Db2 Extender in release 7.6 to read large varchar data results in data truncation.

Solution

The Db2 Extender in release 7.6.12M and below does not support long alpha fields. The Db2 Extender in release 8.2 introduces read/write support for long character columns, including CLOBs and BLOBs fields, and supports long alpha fields.
