Problem

A HOLD file using FORMAT COMT shows trailing blanks for AnV fields after a WebFOCUS upgrade.

Solution

A behavior change was made in release 8105/7706 to keep any trailing spaces that physically exist in an AnV field. This is different from the previous behavior where all trailing spaces were removed for COM, TAB, COMT, TABT and DFIX output formats.

To return the previous behavior, issue the following SET command:

SET HLDCOM_TRIMANV=ON  

This setting will remove all trailing spaces for AnV fields for COM, TAB, COMT, TABT, and DFIX output formats. The default value is OFF.
