User receives an error after upgrading WebFOCUS: FOC1261 PHYSICAL INTERFACE NOT FOUND

Symptom

(FOC1261) PHYSICAL INTERFACE NOT FOUND FOR SUFFIX SQLMSS. MODULE NAME : OLEFOC

Problem

The user receive the error message above after upgrading WebFOCUS.

Solution

This issue occurred because the EDASERVE.CFG file contained the following line after upgrading from release 8203M to release 8207 of WebFOCUS: mss_rel = 2008

To address this issue, add mss_rel = 2012 to the edaserve.cfg file so it uses the SQL Server 2012-2014 adapter and restart the Reporting Server.
