Why is the Show DBMS Objects option not available for some adapters?
Solution
As of Reporting Server release 7.7.09 1524, Server Admin users and users with the ADPTP (Configure Adapters) privilege, will see Adapter connections in all profiles. However, connections in other user/group/role profiles will not have the Show DBMS Objects option to prevent the creation of synonyms using connections that belong to others.
It is important to note the security provider is critical in matching profiles as well. An OPSYS ID called mark is not the same as a PTH ID called mark. The security provider you are signed on with must match as well as the id for the profile connection you wish to use.
