Integration Points for In-Document Analytics

In-Document Analytics (IDA) provides an interactive interface that allows you to generate real-time, dynamic reports, charts, and dashboards. When working in InfoAssist, you can set the output format to HTML Analytic Document format or PDF Analytic Document format, which will enable you to interact with your content. You can also change options on the Analytic Document Options dialog box. You can use the following integration points to get the full picture of the changes that display as of Release 8206:

Working with In-Document Analytics Output Formats in InfoMini

As of Release 8206, new output formats have been added to enhance your experience with select self-service products. For example, when working with InfoMini at run time via InfoAssist, you can select an output format for your content. Depending on the options that are enabled in the Administration Console, you may have access to two new formats: HTML Analytic Document (formerly known as AHTML) and PDF Analytic Document (formerly known as APDF).

Enabling In-Document Analytics Format

In InfoAssist, you can create content, including reports, charts, and dashboards that leverage the interactive capabilities of In-Document Analytics. Enabling this option provides your users with the ability to interact with and modify the content you created for their own analysis.

Note: If you use the Designer style, you will only be able to select the AHTML output format. APDF can only be used with the Legacy style.

How to Enable In-Document Analytics in InfoAssist

Video: How to View Data Behind Visuals

Visualizations are stylish ways to display your data, but sometimes you may want to see the raw numbers behind them. InfoAssist provides multiple ways to do this.

Once you’ve created content for a visualization, accessing the data behind it is simple. In the top right-hand corner of every visual in a visualization, there is an arrow that opens a menu of data view options.

Video: How to Use Procedure Settings in InfoAssist

Hello, and welcome to this video on controlling procedure settings in InfoAssist. You can use the Procedure Settings feature to quickly and easily apply certain types of formatting to affect how your data displays, which is especially useful in cases where you want to customize your content for localization purposes or for different output formats.

Video: How to Use Parameters to Drive the Display of Information in Your Reports and Charts

Content created in InfoAssist can be set to use the Responsive Autoprompt feature to control Parameter-driven charts, reports, and documents. This feature enables you to create parameters and then make dynamic selections at run time, based on the options you create. This gives you flexibility and the full advantage of viewing your data dynamically.

Video: How to Use Dynamic Grouping to Categorize Your Data

This video will show you how to create dynamic groups for your charts, reports, and visualizations, and categorize existing fields into more useful groups.

Dynamic grouping allows you to bring together similar values in your data. For example, you can create a dynamic group in a visualization by lassoing or holding down the control key to select multiple sections of a visual at design time. This is also called “paperclipping”.

Video: How to Use Data Enrichment and Esri Tapestry Segmentation

You can use Demographic layers to enrich your BI data. Demographic layers are thematic maps that provide additional information about the location, such as spending habits, population, and lifestyles. Demographic layers give you the added insight that you need to make accurate, quick decisions. By providing you with layers that contain information about people, businesses, and other trends, you can easily identify patterns in your data and make the decisions that matter most.

Video: How to Use Binning to Organize Your Visualization

Hello, and welcome to this video on Binning, a feature that allows you create bins to hold segments of your data based on the distribution of different values rather than on sort field values. In this video, we will show you how to create bins, adjust bin width, and use them in different types of charts.

Video: How to Use Auto Drill to Cascade the Hierarchy of Your Data

Auto Drill is a feature that enables anyone who views the report or chart to see related data by navigating field hierarchies.

You can use Auto Drill in reports or charts using any Master File, or data file, with field hierarchies. Enabling Auto Drill is easy. In a chart, for example, simply create the chart using a field that is part of a hierarchy and, on the Format tab, turn on Auto Drill.
