Video: How to Create a Thumbnail From Content in InfoAssist

This video will show how you can quickly and easily generate an image of a chart or report to use as a thumbnail in the WebFOCUS Home Page. This can help you quickly recognize the file you want to use in your repository.

Creating the thumbnail is easy. Once you’ve created your chart or report, simply click the Create Thumbnail button on the Quick Access Toolbar. A dialog box appears to show you what the thumbnail will look like.

Video: How to Build a Document in InfoAssist

Today, we’re going to show you how to build a document. Documents allow you to create pages containing multiple charts and reports that can be saved in a variety of formats.

To create a document, navigate to a folder and click Document in the actions bar, or, from within InfoAssist, you can click New from the Quick Access Toolbar or Application menu and click Build a Document. Once you’ve selected a Master File to use as a data source, you can begin creating your content.

When you assemble a new visualization from existing content, you can access the items in your repository from the Content tab. The items are visible in the form of a resources tree. 
To assemble a visualization from existing content, click the plus button on the default WebFOCUS Home Page and then click Assemble visualizations. Select a template to get started. 

When you click the Content tab on the sidebar, the Resource Selector displays the same domain or folder from which you created the page.

The Get Data dialog opens. 

Depending on your version of WebFOCUS and your permissions, you may have the option to configure a new adapter.

Let’s configure a new adapter. 

You can search for an adapter by category or keyword.

Right-click an adapter and click Configure.

You can use Auto Drill in charts using any data source with field hierarchies. Enabling Auto Drill is easy. In a chart, for example, simply create the chart using a field that is part of a hierarchy and, from the Content area on the Settings tab, turn on AutoDrill.

Today we will show you how to use Auto Linking.  Auto-linking allows you to dynamically link many charts and other content to a single chart, based on their common sort (BY) fields and parameters referenced in any filters. This saves you a lot of time and effort creating and maintaining drilldowns in your charts.
Auto Linking enables you to dynamically access a vast amount of information from a single chart, resulting in a library of interconnected, referable content.
